We welcome your interest in the Capuchin Franciscans.
If you are a single Catholic man 18 to 40 and live in New
York State or the New England states and feel the Lord may
be calling you to follow Him in serving the poor after the
example of St. Francis of Assisi, we would like the opportunity
to meet you. Perhaps we could assist you in your discernment
process.
Our Coordinator of Vocation Ministry, Brother Tim Jones, will
be happy to meet with you to discuss our various ministries,
Capuchin way of life and answer any questions you may have.
This will also give you the opportunity to participate in
our 'Come and See' Discernment Weekends, where you will meet
other Capuchin Friars and men such as yourself discerning
God's Call in their life.
We invite you to call, email or write to Brother
Tim Jones (see information below). You can also complete
our On Line Information Form
or download the PDF version, complete it and
mail to Brother Tim Jones at the Good Shepherd Friary address
below.
The information you provide will help us assist in your vocation
journey. Brother Tim will contact you within one week of receiving
your Inquiry. In the meanwhile, please feel free to view our
newsletter, Peacemakers.

In 1952, the increasing number of friars and the logistics of serving
such a vast area of the Americas were challenging. The original
province was divided into two provinces and the Capuchin Province
of St. Mary was created. In addition, other provinces were established
by Bavarian, Italian and Irish Capuchins. Today, there are eight
provinces in North America with approximately 1,000 Capuchin friars
serving the poor and disenfranchised. The Province of St. Mary is
headquartered in White Plains, NY. For additional information please
